Alerts

1. Introduction

1.1 Purpose

This document provides an overview of the SILEXX OEMS Alerts Module. Therefore, our intent here is to provide you guidance, on both basic and advanced functionalities.

An alert is an audible and/or visual cue, which you predetermine, that a security is trading at a certain level. Once the security hits that level, a sound, a pop-up window (see example below), or both can be set to alert you of the event. A triggered alert will also appear on the Quote Board as highlighted text in the associated field. In this manual we will cover how to:

  • Launch the Alerts module
  • Create alerts
  • Manage alerts
  • Re-arm an alert
  • Remove an alert

2. Launching the Alerts Module

From the Main Screen

  1. Click Modules
  2. Select Alerts This will open the Alerts module where you can create, reset, remove, re-arm and otherwise edit alerts.

5. Editing Alerts

5.1 Changing an alerts' parameters

  1. In the Alerts manager, right-click the row of the alert you want to change and select Edit Alert (this can also be done on the Quote Board after an alert has been triggered) The Create Alert window will open and the parameters can be updated.

  2. Several fields can be edited directly in the manager window; these include:
    • High Value
    • Low Value
    • Re-Arm Increment

Left click in the cell containing these values and either type in the new value or click the arrow buttons

6. Re-setting an alert

Triggered alerts will remain visible (highlighted) in the Quote Board and Alerts manager window until the alert is reset. The trigger information will also remain on the Alerts manager window until the alert is reset.

  1. Right-click the highlighted cell on the Quote Board and select Reset Alert
  2. Right-click the highlighted row on the Alerts module and select Reset Alert

6.1 Re-arm an alert

The re-arm feature allows you to setup alerts such that when the alert is triggered, it is automatically re-activated and set at a new value based on a pre-set increment level.

Checking the Re-Arm box and setting a Re-arm Increment of 1.00, in this example, will automatically cause the alert to become active again once triggered, but this time with a Low Value of 90.00 (1 point increment lower from initial alert setting). The alert will continue to be re-armed in this manner until the Re-Arm checkbox is unchecked or the alert is removed.

6.2 Remove an alert

In the Alerts manager, right-click the row of the alert you want to remove and select Edit Alert (this can also be done on the Quote Board after an alert has been triggered)
